It’s been two years for Ret. Since then, 5 lakh unemployed people have been waiting for the REET to be held. These include those unemployed with B.Ed and BSTC degrees who have either obtained this degree in these two years or so. Or, in the previous REET, he was disqualified for not scoring 60 per cent. In addition, 3rd class teacher recruitment-2018 level-1 and level-2 could not be selected. They are also waiting for REET to improve their scores. The Education Department had started to murmur about the conduct of the REET in the past, but the matter is still in the cold storage. The government has entrusted the responsibility of organising the REET to the Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer.
The Board does not have any direction on the REET as of now. To join Class III Teachers Level-I and Level-2, it is mandatory to get 60 per cent marks in the Teacher Eligibility Test. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced 21600 recruitments in the Education Department in the budget. The number of posts of Class III teachers is yet to be disclosed. But the recruitment process of class III teachers will start only after the Government organises the REET . If the Government conducts third class teacher recruitment without conducting REET in these two years, the B.Ed. or BSTC degree seekers will be out of the recruitment process due to non-eligibility of REET .
